Congressional Support for HHS Bargaining

Key Senator urges HHS Secretary Azar to come back to the bargaining table with NTEU.

Yesterday, Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), which has jurisdiction over federal employee collective bargaining rights, sent a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Azar asking that he come back to the table and bargain in good faith with NTEU.

Senator Harris has been steadfast in her support for federal employees and their union rights, and we are deeply grateful for her support on this matter. It was also confirmed yesterday that Senator Harris will again serve on this committee in the upcoming 116th Congress (2019–2020), and we are pleased that a champion of bargaining unit members will continue to have a key role on federal workforce issues.
