POV Notice and Claims Process Agreement

FDA and NTEU have reached agreement regarding a POV notice and claims process for ORA employees.

Car on a highwayNTEU and FDA have reached agreement regarding a notice and claims process for ORA employees who use a Personally Owned Vehicle (POV) for work purposes. The notice has been executed by the parties and will be circulated via email to all employees by next week.

The notice informs ORA employees that they will no longer be required to submit a POV Use Request Form when opting to drive their personally owned vehicle for work purposes. Some of the prior forms contained inaccurate information regarding mileage reimbursement rates and, as a result, employees were not properly reimbursed. The notice also sets forth the current POV mileage reimbursement rate for employees and notifies ORA employees that, in the event that they were improperly reimbursed or denied reimbursement in the past, employees may submit a claim to correct the reimbursement amount with interest. Claims for reimbursement may go back for up to six years. If an employee believes he or she was improperly reimbursed or improperly denied reimbursement, the employee must contact the POV Claims email with any supporting documentation within 120 days of the date of release of the e-mail claims notice. Please be sure to notify and follow up with your chapter representative regarding your POV claims so that we can be sure you are made whole.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this Memorandum of Understanding, please share them with your chapter president.
