FDA has provided Article 3 notice to NTEU that the Office of Human and Animal Food Operations plans to implement a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) regarding Shellfish Green Sheet Use and Maintenance. According to the notice, the SOP will permit the agency to better track the process of Green Sheet Use and Maintenance and will establish a repository of questions and answers that can be searched for consistency and researched for the Shellfish Sanitation Program. According to the agency, the SOP merely formalizes the actions that employees have conducted for many years and would impact all 11 ORA Shellfish Specialists. A copy of the SOP and questionnaire checklist are available upon request to your chapter president.
