Letter on Ag/FDA Appropriations Bill

NTEU has written to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee with jurisdiction over FDA with NTEU’s funding request for FY 2019.

NTEU sent a letter to the members of the United States Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture/FDA. In it, NTEU National President Tony Reardon requested appropriate funding for the FDA.

I believe Tony’s request is moderate and reasonable. I also believe it is the minimum FDA needs in order to carry out its important mission. I am pleased that, unlike at other agencies, the administration’s position is fairly close to NTEU’s position.

This letter follows on a similar letter to the House Ag/FDA Appropriations Subcommittee. NTEU will continued to work throughout the process to see that agencies whose employees are represented by NTEU have the resources they need.

FDA to Implement New Mobile Device Policy

FDA has provided Article 3 notice to NTEU that ORA plans to implement a new mobile device policy.

Man dialing cell phoneFDA recently provided notice to NTEU that the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) plans to implement a new mobile device policy. The notice document contains no information about the specific policy changes but includes the draft copy of the policy for review. NTEU has requested a briefing to learn more about the policy changes, and to bargain the change.
