Late last night, the U.S. Senate cleared the House-passed omnibus appropriations measure by a vote of 65-32 (H.R. 1625), averting a potential shutdown into the weekend.  The measure funds federal agencies for the remainder of fiscal year (FY) 2018, and awaits the President’s signature. Yesterday, Office of Management and Budget Director Mulvaney indicated the President would sign the bill once acted upon by Congress.

NTEU is pleased that a third shutdown did not occur, and that agencies have funding through the remainder of the FY. Rest assured that we will be working closely with Congress to ensure adequate funding for FY 2019, and to block attempts to reduce the federal workforce and to harm employee compensation and bargaining rights in the remainder of the second session of this Congress.
