House Passes Omnibus Appropriations Measure for Remainder of Fiscal Year 2018

House passes Omnibus Appropriations bill for remainder of FY 2018. The measure now moves to the Senate for consideration.

The House of Representatives (Jan. 3 file photo).Today the House of Representatives passed the omnibus appropriations measure (Senate amendment to H.R. 1625) that would fund federal agencies for the remainder of fiscal year (FY) 2018 by a vote of 256 to 167. The measure now goes before the Senate for consideration.

As you know, the federal government is operating under a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) with funding expiring Friday at midnight. At this time, it is unclear if the Senate will be able to vote on the measure before the CR expires or if a lapse in appropriations will occur. NTEU is working with Senator Cardin (D-MD) and Representatives Don Beyer (D-VA) and Rob Wittman (R-VA) to ensure that all federal employees are paid should a lapse in appropriations occur.

I will keep you posted on further developments as they occur.
