Informational Notice of Mandatory Cyber Security Training

Department of Health and Human Services (logo)On September 22, 2017, HHS provided an informational notice to NTEU that employees would be required to complete a mandatory cyber security training by the end of the workday. According to the agency, the training mandate was issued by the White House in order to “continue to protect government information and prevent cyber breaches.” The agency indicated that it would afford employees approximately one hour to complete the training video, and there would be no test or other method of verification to ensure that employees actually watched the video. Employees would simply need to complete the training on their own, following the honor system.

If you learn anything to the contrary, including any adverse impact on employees resulting from the training, please contact your chapter president.
