Notice of Updated Employment Benefits Information System

HHS has provided NTEU with an informational notice that it will begin using an updated version of the Employment Benefits Information System.

EBIS logoHHS has provided an informational notice to NTEU that it will begin using an updated version of the Employment Benefits Information System (EBIS) called Government Retirement and Benefits Platform (GRB). Per the notice, the EBIS platform and its limited functionality will no longer be supported by the developer. The developer is offering the same services under the GRB platform with enhanced functionality. The agency claims that the enhanced system will provide employees with more personalized and general information about government-wide benefits. Employees will be able to access their retirement annuity estimate, high-3 average salary, current payroll deduction information, and Federal Employees’ Group Life Insurance premiums. According to the notice, GRB will also offer a detailed benefits summary, benefits calculators, and online resources for assistance. GRB is scheduled to go live at HHS on Monday, October 2, 2017, and, at that time, EBIS will no longer be available. The agency contends that this change is de minimis (minimal) in nature.
