Senate Passes Omnibus FY 2017 Spending Bill

img_7869Today the U.S. Senate passed H.R. 244, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017, by a vote of 79 to 18. The bill provides discretionary funding for the federal government through September 30, 2017. It is now on its way to the President, who is expected to sign the measure. The House of Representatives passed the bill yesterday.

President Trump is scheduled to release his full FY 2018 budget in the next few weeks. As attention now turns to FY 2018 funding, rest assured that NTEU will be fighting to ensure adequate FDA funding for personnel, operations, and programs.
