Short-Term Continuing Resolution Passes Congress

Umbrellas The Senate has passed H.J. Res. 99, the short-term Continuing Resolution (CR), by voice vote following House passage earlier today. The measure would continue to fund government operations through May 5, and now heads to the President, who is expected to sign it.

With enactment of H.J. Res. 99, Congress and the President have seven more days to reach an agreement on outstanding policy riders before agency funding expires anew. NTEU is urging our elected officials to settle on a long-term spending deal that provides adequate funding for agencies and allows federal employees to do the work that taxpayers deserve and expect.

I will share additional information on the status of the Fiscal Year 2017 funding bill next week.
