As I shared with you yesterday, Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) has re-introduced legislation to increase federal employee pay. The Federal Adjustment of Income Rates (FAIR) bill, S. 255, is similar to Representative Gerry Connolly’s (D-VA) legislation in the House, H.R. 757, and would provide federal employees on the General Schedule and Wage Grade pay systems with a 3.2% pay increase effective January 2018. S. 255 was introduced with four original cosponsors: Maryland Democratic Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) and Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH).
NTEU supports the FAIR Act, which we worked with allies in Congress to see introduced, and will promote this legislation on Capitol Hill.
