FY 2017 Funding and Possible Government Shutdown

houseofrep232wayYesterday, the House of Representatives passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) that would fund the federal government through April 28, 2017, by a vote of 326 to 96. The Senate has not yet taken action on this legislation and if it, or another short term funding bill, is not enacted by midnight tonight, agency funding will run out, and we could face a government shutdown. The main issue holding up a Senate vote on the CR has to do with health care benefits for miners.

NTEU expects agencies to begin putting in place their shutdown planning processes soon.

I will keep you updated as soon as we have additional information.
