NTEU submitted testimony to a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs’ Regulatory Affairs and Federal Management Subcommittee hearing held by Subcommittee Chairman Lankford (R-OK) and Ranking Member Heitkamp (D-ND) looking at attracting millennials to federal service.

In our testimony, NTEU made clear that in order to attract and retain millennials, as well as any other aged workers, Congress needs to properly fund agencies to allow for hiring and career advancement, adequately compensate employees with decent pay raises, and maintain due process and employee rights.

NTEU also advocated for broader agency use of student loan repayments and for the enactment of paid parental leave.
