Fliers for Labor Recognition Week 2016

This year our Labor Recognition Week (LRW) theme is about belonging. We, members, belong to the union but also to the federal workforce. LRW is a chance to celebrate our commitment to NTEU and to public service.

Here are fliers to help you celebrate LRW. It includes a PDF version of a message that NTEU National President will send on Monday, September 12—the first day of Labor Recognition Week 2016.

NTEU will mark LRW on their web site as well. An LRW page is available with these fliers and other information and materials. That page can be found through the “I Am NTEU” drop-down menu on the web site.

Again, I encourage you to take photos with the signs and send those photos to us for possible use on the NTEU web site and social media.

CBA Interpretation: A Lunch-and-Learn Recording

Bargaining unit employees, if you missed the WebEx lunch-and-learn on CBA interpretation held today, Monday, August 29, 2016, the recording is now available upon request.

This is NTEU CountryBecause term bargaining is coming up soon, we discussed the Articles and Sections of the CBA that you find difficult to enforce and cause conflict with management. We also conversed about how we can enforce the contract.

Because this lunch-and-learn recording is based on the CBA and related statutes, it is only for bargaining unit employees regardless of NTEU membership status.

This lunch-and-learn recording is about 42 minutes long. To extend your 30-minute lunch break to watch it, please arrange with your supervisor ahead of time to either:

  • Flex your lunch break per Article 25, Section 2 L, of the CBA
  • Use credit time, compensatory time, travel compensatory time, or annual leave
