Joint HHS and NTEU Awards Training Postponed

Clock on a pile of moneyOn July 22, 2016, I notified you that NTEU and HHS had agreed to hold joint training on Article 27 of the Consolidated Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) regarding performance and incentive awards, tentatively scheduled for Thursday, July 28, 2016. Unfortunately, the training must be postponed because the agency was unable to secure a training location. The parties are currently working to set a new training date and location, and are also discussing potential alternative methods for delivering the training that may be helpful to NTEU’s recruiting efforts.

NTEU negotiated for this joint awards training in order to educate all committee members of the types of awards and committees set forth in Article 27 of the CBA. In addition, the training will inform committee members regarding their role and responsibility when serving on awards committees, the function of each type of awards committee, the timing of committee meetings, and the process of nominating and distributing awards. NTEU believes this training will ensure that the committee process takes place expeditiously and that awards are distributed fairly and equitably to bargaining unit employees. We will continue to push for this training.

I will let you know when a new training date, time, and location have been determined.
