Statutory Requirement for Member’s Mailing Address

We must hold chapter elections before the year end in accordance with the law, the NTEU Chapter Administration Manual, and our Chapter Bylaws.

mailing-listUnions must make reasonable efforts to update member mailing addresses as part of their overall obligation to provide members a reasonable opportunity to nominate candidates and vote, under Section 401 (f) of the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 (LMRDA or the Landrum–Griffin Act). If the chapter does not make a reasonable effort, and the number of undeliverable ballots is large enough to have affected the outcome of an election, the election must be rerun at additional expense of the chapter.

This is why I keep asking you to please update your mailing address in our files. Please visit to review your contact information in our records.
