I have received many complaints from BUEs about CGE, the newest HHS travel management fiasco.
Today, I personally experienced CGE’s inefficiency when I discovered that a cancelled hotel reservation for May 23 failed to cancel with the hotel, even after deleting the unapproved travel authorization.
Furthermore, the hotel charged the first night to my government travel charge card although my travel authorization has not yet been approved.
Fortunately, I check the activity on my government travel charge card regularly and noticed the unauthorized charge. I advise you to always check that cancellations go through to the hotel, and to report all problems with CGE through the appropriate channels and with your stewards. I am forwarding these incidents to our NTEU National Negotiator in preparation for our next term bargaining.
